Brazilian Feijoada Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 lb beef short ribs
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 3 cans black beans (soacked over night)
  • To taste pepper (freshly grounded)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (freshly Squeezed)
  • To taste salt

How to Make?

  • Add a little oil to a skillet and brown the ribs on all sides. Once these are done nicely, remove them from the skillet and set them aside.
  • Now add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes or unit translucent on medium heat.
  • Once these are brown, add tomatoes to the skillet and cook until the mixture is soft and combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker bowl.
  • Add ribs to the cooker, beans, and one and ½ cup of beef broth and cumin.
  • Adjust settings to low and cook it for about 6 to 8 hours. Cook it until the ribs are tender and easily pull apart.
  • Taste the seasoning and add pepper or salt as per requirement.
  • Add lime juice to your flavor and serve with Brazilian-style rice or orange wedges.
